Leprechaun Trappers Extraordinaire

Did you ever wonder what it would be like to catch a Leprechaun? Does he grant you three wishes! Are you blessed with great fortune? Well I guess we will just have to find out next year! As much as the girls wished their clever traps would snare the mighty leprechaun, it did not happen. However we did manage to get one of his gloves...Next year mighty leprechaun, next year!

As you can see that is Nate on the ground surrounded by his leprechaun catching daughters practicing their technique. This year eventhough we did not successfully capture the crafty leprechaun we did get some yummy gold....Lemonheads!

This morning we enjoyed breakfast of green oatmeal and green milk. I wonder what the rest of the day will bring...maybe green eggs and ham. Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Kendyl for "Show and Tell"

Last Thursday was Lydia's weekly show and tell day at preschool. While sitting at breakfast that morning we were discussing plans for the day. I looked at Lydia's preschool calendar like always to check and see what was listed for that day. I told Lydia since you are leaning letter "K" you need to bring something that starts with that letter. This is the standard so we have been through this before. Lydia gets a very serious look on her face and says that she wants to bring Kendyl. I laugh at first, but then realize she is quite serious. Knowing that her teacher was with another class I told her I would call at lunch time. When I told Miss Shannon Lydia's plan, she agreed and thought it was a wonderful and cute idea. Lydia was so excited and so was Kendyl. Kendyl just kept repeating Dydi's school Dydi's school.
It turned out great! Kendyl enjoyed all the attention she was given and Lydia had a huge smile of pride showing off her baby sister.

My First 10 Mile Run in 3 Years

Since the middle of January I have been going to the track to train for the Ogden half marathon this May. I have been training for 8 weeks now and have 8 weeks until the race. Friday morning was set aside for this big 10 mile run. Every part of me was so excited for this milestone. For some of you who know about my desire and commitment to run, know that I have had a few obstacles these past 2 months. With sick family and sickness of my own. However that was not going to stop me. I knew that if having to take 2 weeks off I was going to have to bump up my training a little to be ready. Thankfully my body has recipricated well. I have had no other problems with my health and running for the most part has come easy. It's like I have always had it in me to do this. I am a runner. I may be the most uncoordinated and clutzy person, but I can run. I love the freedom I feel in allowing my body to just take off. My mind tries to tell me at times that it is too hard, and my body aches alot, but I just push through it all.
This 10 miles was my own personal accomplishment. I am not running to compete with anyone, I run for me. For my own personal competition within myself to be my best. After running the first 7 miles I knew it was possible. By the time I was getting into my 9th mile I felt a renewed burst of energy. I was so overcome with emotion I cried my last half lap. I had done it and now I knew that I could accomplish anything.
